City of Greater Geraldton School Holiday Program

School-aged children can join free and paid holiday activities in Geraldton, with programs covering cooking, outdoor recreation, creative workshops and sport. Ask the City Youth team about the current program, places and session requirements before travelling.

Children aged from birth to 16 with a diagnosed disability or developmental delay or disorder can access speech pathology, occupational therapy and therapy-assistant services. Appointments may be held at the Geraldton clinic or in homes, schools, day-care settings and the community. Visits elsewhere in the Midwest and Murchison are available by discussion. The team also provides functional capacity assessments, groups and workshops for parents, schools and day-care providers.

Young people aged 12–25 can receive free support relating to mental health, alcohol or other drug use, physical and sexual health, and work or study. A GP referral is not required: young people can self-refer, while family members or friends may refer with the young person’s permission. Families and friends can also contact the service directly.

Children’s Counselling – Desert Blue Connect

This free Geraldton-based service offers child-centred play therapy and counselling for children, as well as support for parents or caregivers concerned about a child’s wellbeing.
